Patch fiber cord is made of quartz glass, the origin of which is quartz sand. Optical fiber is made up of a core and the mantle that surrounds it. Due to the characteristics of the glass, the core and the casing are very sensitive to bending and torsional demands. The primary coating that provides fiber protection has several functions: mechanical protection, sealing against moisture, and color coding of the fiber.
